from isolated despair to collective healing
My only companion was a worn journal. Though it looked ordinary, those pages became a sacred space where I could unleash my fears, regrets, and yearnings.
NOTE: This is the 4th edition of the Community Resources series. If you missed other issues, click here.
Here’s what people are saying about this transformative community:
“Thank you for your texts. While they may apply to so many people who are hurting, they are far more than anything as generic as a meme or a horoscope or the like. They hit right in the gut and the heart because - honestly it's hard to trust anyone you find on social media - everything you say feels like it's genuine. And for those of us who *get it* it really does come across that way to me. So, thank you.”
“You enlighten my soul everyday just by being you. Your journey really hits a special place within me!! You have made me realize I can do this, it won't be easy, but i can do it. Thank you for each and everything you do Ryan i really do appreciate you.”
“Yep. Opened a whole ass business with that hope. I'm a hairdresser and the amount of clients I've helped get started in healing is just the best thing.”
“Thank you for your dedication to these messages, l've been going through a really hard time lately & it seems they always come when I really need some kind words. You're an absolute angel.”

Curious About the Messages?
Here's a Glimpse:
“To love oneself is to truly understand the depth of your own soul. It's the foundation upon which all other love is built. As you nurture self-love, you open your heart to the endless wonders of life.”
“I see you, in all your authenticity and strength. Your journey and experiences are valid, and you are truly appreciated.”
“Always keep in mind that not everyone will applaud or embrace your journey of healing and growth. At times, your progress may act as a mirror, reflecting their own stagnation or challenges they haven't yet faced.”

The Birth of an Idea
I remember those nights.
Not vividly, but sharply, like a cold slap from Hamilton’s winds.
Alone in my car, those winds didn’t just chill my bones; they cut deep, slicing through what was left of me, twisting the knife that betrayal had already plunged. Each gust felt like a taunt, reminding me of just how shattered I was.
The moon barely bothered to shine, a weak glimmer over Hamilton’s empty streets. It wasn’t a city—it was a ghost town, every corner hiding shadows that reflected my own turmoil. The kind of quiet that screams at you.
And that car, felt like a prison on wheels, not a refuge. The walls closed in as tears blurred everything.
The clock on the dash tainted me. Time slowly passing by.
Tick. Tick. Tick.
It was a cruel companion to my isolation, to the regrets that piled up with each passing minute.
That betrayal hit like a hurricane. It wasn’t just about lies—it was a firestorm of raw emotions, leaving nothing but ashes. My heart, once beating with hope, was now rubble, pieces scattered across a landscape of regret.
My phone—a once buzzing, buzzing, buzzing little box of life—was now a stone-cold, silent slab.
No notifications.
No texts.
Just darkness.
It’s like the universe had hit mute, leaving me to stew in my own isolation. I kept glancing at it, desperate for a ping, a flash, anything to break the quiet.
Then, one night, the cold from the car seat creeping into my bones, I had a thought.
Maybe, just maybe, I wasn’t alone in feeling this way.
Surely, there was someone out there equally stranded in their own silent void, yearning for a sign, a word, a spark.
So, I decided to do something about it.
That’s when the idea hit me.
A daily message, a small flicker of light. A community, if you will.
I’d send out a quote each day.
Simple.
Hopeful.
Something to grab onto. If it reached even one person, pulled them back from the edge of their own darkness, then maybe it all mattered.
And so, with trembling fingers and a heavy heart, I sent out my first quote.
"Even in our darkest hours, there's a light that shines within. All we need is to find it."
What started as a simple thought, a flicker of hope in the gloom, quickly took on a life of its own. Suddenly, my inbox wasn’t just mine. It was theirs, too.
People—strangers, really—poured out their stories, their pain, their dreams. They talked about breakups, missed chances, fears, all of it.
And to my surprise, they weren’t just reading those little messages—they were clinging to them.
Grateful, they said.
For a nudge, a note, a sign that maybe, just maybe, they weren’t as alone as they thought.
That phone, once just a cold reminder of my isolation, became a bridge. Connecting me to others, to their words, to their lives.
Eventually, those brutal feelings of isolation started to lose their edge.
They weren’t daggers anymore.
Just whispers of something new.
Something warmer.
Carrying voices, thanks, stories—proof that even the smallest light can spark something bigger.
From the depths of my own struggles, something unexpected surfaced.
A tribe.
A ragtag bunch of souls, each craving a spark, a glimmer, anything to remind them that even in the darkest moments, there’s a light waiting to be found.
Those little texts morphed into lifelines. More than words on a screen—they became the threads stitching us together, guiding us all through the storm.
As this ragtag group grew, reality set in.
Not everyone could or even wanted to jump into a daily message stream.
I got it. Life’s messy, complicated.
But I wasn’t about to let anyone slip through the cracks.
No way.
So, I stretched the boundaries, pushed those messages further, making sure no one was left out. Everyone deserves a shot at a little hope, after all.
For anyone not into signing up for texts, or just flat-out ignoring notifications, I wasn’t about to leave them hanging.
I dropped those same uplifting quotes in the Notes section of my Substack.
Simple.
But hey, the digital world’s always shifting, and I wasn’t about to miss the wave.
So, I dove into Threads, the latest social media playground.
And—Boom.
Every quote is posted there too. No excuses.
Every day these messages of hope will be accessible to anyone, anywhere, any time.
From lonely nights in a car parked in Hamilton to building a global web of connections, one thing became crystal clear: even the smallest word can light a fuse, setting off change in ways you never imagined.
It’s a spark.
A bridge.
A lifeline that ties us together. Stitches up the wounds.
And throws light into the darkest corners of our lives.
Need a steady dose of good vibes?
Jump in. Join the crew. Whether you’re down for the daily texts, vibing with the Substack, or scrolling through Threads, we’re in this together.
Healing. Discovering. Growing.
And here’s the thing: no matter how isolated you might feel, you’re never really on your own.
Not here.
We’ve got your back, lifting each other up, message by message.
There’s a world of possibilities out there, and with every bit of daily inspiration, we’re that much closer to breaking open our true potential.
